Demographically, the composition of Jordan’s population is largely comprised of youth under the age of 16. JRF acknowledges that in its role as an agent for positive change in society, it is integral that it incorporates specialized programs for youth in its activities. While youth development has been a large focus of JRF programs since 2007, the Foundation continues to work on tailoring additional programs that enhance civic engagement and employability among youth. Through its approach, JRF has seen much success in helping to tackle Jordan’s youth unemployment rate of 28.1%, by creating jobs and encouraging small start-up businesses. JRF has also succeed in gaining the trust of local youth by taking careful consideration when creating programs that meet their specific needs and requirements.
