JRF Concludes Community Empowerment through the Arts Project
The Jordan River Foundation has concluded a project in Aqaba designed to empower communities through the arts, implemented at JRF’s Queen Rania Al-Abdullah Community Empowerment Center and supported by Ayla Oasis.
Over six months, the project has empowered 254 beneficiaries and 15 female volunteers in child protection skills, and has offered volunteering opportunities for 15 women. Specialized teaching staff from local schools supervised the project in Aqaba.
Ahmad Ghnimat, Director of the Queen Rania Al-Abdullah Community Empowerment Center, pointed that the project's goals revolve around enhancing self-empowerment, helping participants express and manage their emotions, and reducing stress through art. He praised the collaboration with Ayla Oasis and the dedication of the teaching staff.
The project included recruiting and training volunteers from several Aqaba schools in child protection to assist youth in expressing their emotions positively, understanding and managing uneasy feelings, and utilizing assertive communication, thereby enhancing their self-confidence.
