Bazaar celebrates handmade products of JRF beneficiaries

AMMAN - Over 140 beneficiaries from the ILO-funded “Women Do Business” (WDB) project participated in a bazaar showcasing various homemade items including food products, handicrafts and cosmetics; the offspring of income-generating projects established by entrepreneurs who underwent a series of training sessions in entrepreneurship, project management, and access to grants under the WDB project. WDB is implemented by JRF in partnership with the Jordan Enterprise Development Corporation (JEDCO). The event was patronaged by JEDCO’s Director Mr. Abdel Fattah Al Kayed.   

“These projects have achieved tremendous success thanks to the efforts and commitment of the female entrepreneurs behind them,” points Frida Khan, ILO Country Coordinator (Jordan) and Gender Specialist (Arab States). “It’s pivotal that we continue to support these women in their journeys of self reliance by developing their businesses and diversifying their products,” Khan adds.     

JEDCO’s Director Abdel Fattah Al Kayed stressed the importance of continuous national efforts to help leverage women’s economic participation and contribution through workforce readiness.  

“Today’s event is a culmination of our beneficiaries’ successful efforts to establish sustainable micro businesses following a series of training programs qualifying them for grants to help develop their projects,” points JRF’s Director General Enaam Barrishi.
