JRF Concludes 1st Phase of Social Innovation Training for Mentors
A training course for supervisors of the Jordan River Foundation’s Social Innovation Incubators project was conducted by the Ministry of Youth in partnership with JRF and UNICEF.
The course included sessions on UNICEF’s social innovation curriculum, during which 15 supervisors from across the kingdom participated. Participants were introduced to the concepts of social innovation, entrepreneurship, and the importance of preparing youth for tech driven entrepreneurship, as well as community needs assessment skills, innovative thinking.
Secretary-General of the Ministry of Youth Dr. Hussein Al Jbour commended the role of business incubators in fostering youth development, transforming young people's innovative ideas into practical ventures, eventually contributing to their economic empowerment. He also commended the collaboration between the Ministry and JRF and its role in influencing youth across Jordan. Areej Al-Yousef, Project Manager of the Social Innovation Incubators project, emphasized the importance of having a thorough operational plan for the incubators as well as their role in developing the social innovation skills of the Ministry’s supervisors and trainers. Meanwhile, Director of Programs and Training at JRF Mohammed Hourani commended the strategic partnership with the Ministry as a conduit for empowering youth economically and socially.
